Why We Built UAreHire: Hiring Shouldn’t Take Weeks When Both Sides Are Ready

UAreHire was built around one simple idea: if a worker is ready to work and an employer is ready to hire, connecting them should not take weeks.

Why We Built UAreHire: Hiring Shouldn’t Take Weeks When Both Sides Are Ready

A worker is ready.

An employer is hiring.

They may live in the same city.

They may be exactly what each other needs.

And yet it can still take days or weeks for them to connect.

That never made much sense to us.

We live in a world where people can communicate instantly.

Businesses can receive orders in seconds.

Drivers can be dispatched immediately.

Payments can move electronically.

Meetings can happen by video from almost anywhere.

But hiring can still feel slow.

Post a job.

Wait.

Apply.

Wait.

Send an email.

Wait.

Schedule an interview.

Wait again.

UAreHire was created around a simple question:

Why should hiring take weeks when both sides may already be ready?

The problem is not always a lack of workers

When a company has trouble filling a position, it is easy to assume there are no available workers.

Sometimes that may be true.

But sometimes the workers are already there.

They simply do not know about the opportunity.

Or the employer does not know they are available.

A worker may have:

  • the right experience
  • the right trade
  • the right licence
  • the right safety tickets
  • the right location
  • immediate availability

But unless that worker finds the job posting and applies, the employer may never see them.

That creates a visibility problem.

UAreHire is designed to help reduce that gap.

Traditional job boards mostly wait for the worker

The traditional process usually begins with an employer posting a job.

Then the employer waits for applicants.

That makes the process heavily dependent on the worker discovering the opportunity first.

But why should it always work in only one direction?

What if employers could also discover workers?

What if a worker could create a profile, show their qualifications and say:

“I’m ready to work.”

Then an employer who needs someone could look at available workers and begin the conversation.

That is a core part of the UAreHire idea.

Readiness should be visible

A resume usually explains what someone has done.

But it does not always explain something equally important:

Are they available now?

That matters.

An employer may need someone:

  • today
  • this week
  • next week
  • for an upcoming project
  • before a busy period begins

UAreHire is being designed to make worker availability visible.

Workers can indicate whether they are:

  • Available now
  • Available today
  • Available this week
  • Available later

That gives employers useful information earlier.

It also gives workers a way to signal that they are actively open to opportunities.

UAreHire is not just another job board

We do not want UAreHire to become another website where employers post jobs and workers disappear into a long list of applications.

The vision is more direct.

Workers create profiles.

Employers create opportunities.

Both sides can find each other.

They can communicate.

They can move toward an interview.

And when the right worker and the right opportunity meet, the hiring process can move forward.

That is why our message is:

Meet. Interview. Hire.

The worker profile matters

Workers are more than resumes.

A strong UAreHire profile can help employers understand:

  • who you are
  • where you are
  • your occupation or trade
  • your industry experience
  • your skills
  • your work history
  • your certifications
  • your driver's licence
  • your safety tickets
  • your other qualifications
  • when you are available

The purpose is clarity.

An employer should be able to quickly understand whether there may be a fit.

Employers should not have to start from zero

When a position becomes vacant, many companies start the hiring process from the beginning every time.

Create the posting.

Publish it.

Wait for applications.

Sort through them.

Contact candidates.

That can work.

But we believe employers should also have another option.

They should be able to see workers who may already be available.

They should be able to search.

Discover.

Review.

Reach out.

That makes hiring more active instead of purely reactive.

Why Grande Prairie?

UAreHire is starting in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

We made that decision intentionally.

Grande Prairie has businesses that operate in fast-moving industries and environments where staffing needs can change quickly.

A company may suddenly need:

  • another tradesperson
  • a driver
  • a technician
  • a labourer
  • an equipment operator
  • a restaurant employee
  • a maintenance worker
  • another member of a project crew

When that happens, time matters.

We want to begin in one local market, learn from real workers and employers, improve the platform and build a strong hiring community before expanding further.

Start local. Build strong. Expand carefully.

Many platforms try to be everywhere immediately.

UAreHire is taking a different approach.

We want to build usefulness before size.

That means creating a real concentration of workers and employers in Grande Prairie first.

The marketplace becomes more valuable when:

  • more workers complete profiles
  • more employers post real opportunities
  • worker availability stays current
  • employers actively search
  • conversations happen
  • interviews are scheduled
  • people find real work

Once that system works well locally, expansion becomes much more meaningful.

We want workers to have more visibility

Looking for work can be frustrating.

You submit applications.

You hear nothing.

You apply again.

You wait.

Sometimes you do not even know whether your application was reviewed.

We believe workers should have another way to participate.

Instead of only applying and waiting, workers can build a profile that employers can discover.

That creates a different dynamic.

A worker can say:

This is what I can do.

These are my qualifications.

This is where I am.

And this is when I can work.

We want employers to have better visibility too

Employers face their own frustrations.

Applications may arrive from people who do not meet the requirements.

Candidates may stop responding.

Some applicants may no longer be available.

Others may live too far away.

A company may spend significant time trying to determine who is actually a realistic candidate.

UAreHire aims to give employers clearer information earlier.

Not to make the hiring decision for them.

But to help them identify who may deserve a conversation.

Hiring should still be responsible

Faster does not mean careless.

Employers remain responsible for making proper hiring decisions.

Depending on the position, that may include:

  • reviewing experience
  • conducting interviews
  • confirming qualifications
  • verifying licences
  • reviewing certifications
  • contacting references
  • completing appropriate screening
  • following company policies

UAreHire is not designed to remove those steps.

It is designed to help people reach those steps without unnecessary delay.

Communication should happen earlier

A lot of hiring time is lost before the first real conversation even happens.

That is something we want to improve.

If an employer finds a worker who appears suitable, they should be able to reach out.

If a worker is interested, they should be able to respond.

If both sides want to continue, they should be able to move toward an interview.

The sooner that conversation begins, the sooner both sides can determine whether the opportunity makes sense.

Interviews should not be harder to arrange than necessary

Sometimes geography and schedules make interviews difficult.

That is why UAreHire is also being built with communication and video interview capabilities.

The goal is to create a connected hiring experience.

Discover.

Message.

Interview.

Decide.

Instead of forcing workers and employers to jump between unrelated systems for every step.

Trust matters

A hiring marketplace only works if people trust it.

Workers need to know they are dealing with real opportunities.

Employers need confidence that worker information is meaningful.

That is why trust and safety will continue to be an important part of UAreHire as the platform grows.

Our goal is not simply to create more activity.

It is to create useful activity between real workers and real employers.

UAreHire will keep evolving

The platform you see today is the beginning.

We will continue developing features based on how people actually use UAreHire.

That means listening to:

  • workers
  • employers
  • local businesses
  • hiring managers
  • tradespeople
  • service workers
  • people actively looking for opportunities

The best hiring platform will not be built by guessing what people need.

It will be built by learning from the people actually hiring and looking for work.

What we want UAreHire to become

Our long-term vision is bigger than a job board.

We want UAreHire to become a place where a worker can say:

“I’m ready.”

And an employer can say:

“I’m hiring.”

Then the platform helps bring them together.

A place where availability matters.

Where communication happens sooner.

Where workers have visibility.

Where employers can search proactively.

Where interviews happen without unnecessary friction.

Where local hiring can move at the speed local businesses actually operate.

For workers

If you are looking for work, build your profile.

Add your experience.

Add your skills.

Add your qualifications.

Keep your availability current.

Give employers a clear picture of what you can do.

Do not only wait for opportunities to find their way to you.

Make yourself visible.

For employers

If you hire workers, join the marketplace.

Post your opportunities.

Look at available workers.

Start conversations.

Use the platform before the next staffing need becomes an emergency.

The stronger the local employer community becomes, the more valuable UAreHire becomes for workers.

This is just the beginning

UAreHire began with a simple idea.

A worker can be ready.

An employer can be ready.

Technology should make it easier for them to find each other.

Not harder.

Not slower.

Not weeks later.

When both sides are ready, the conversation should be able to start.

That is what we are building.

UAreHire.

Meet. Interview. Hire.

Meet. Interview. Hire. LIVE.
